Can't catch me.

hey all.

chevonne,

once again,

sorry i could not come to your birthday party.

you know the reason.

and sorry i could not come to your house.

i had P6 camp by YOUTH@BC.

it rocked.

although it was super tiring.

when i came home yesterday,

i could not even raise up my arm.

ok.

this is how the camp went.

the camp was 2D1N.

1st day:

woke up at 7.am.

got ready and left for church.

reached church and saw sarah and mavis.

and some boys.

then after a while,

wee xin, carrie, felicia and chrystal came.

after that,

the youths started coming.

we could not wait for others anymore.

so we went up to the youth room.

then sharon and david came.

after that,

there were 10 boys and 8 girls.

that's all.

we sat in a circle.

and jonathan, the leader of youth,

explained to us the rules and regulations for the camp.

then we introduced ourselves one by one.

we had to say our name, 1 thing interesting about ourselves and 1 thing we do not like.

after that.

jonathan tested some of us to see if we were listening to everyone talking.

then,

we played some icebreakers.

the icebreakers were not nice.

because we had to group up and pair up with boys.

oh ya.

before icebreakers,

we were broken into 3 groups.

my group members were mavis, sharon, david, kerwin and austin.

we also got our dorms.

one for girls and one for boys.

since there were more boys than girls,

the boys got the bigger room.

like twice the size of the girls' dorm.

SO GOOD.

i hated the second icebreaker.

we had to stand in a circle.

two groups.

which means two circles.

we had to hold the right hand of the person opposite us and the left hand of another person opposite us.

unfortunately,

there were all boys opposite me.

had to hold their hands.

anyway,

the main purpose of the camp was to bring the boys and girls closer together.

we had to do the second icebreaker twice.

after that,

we had to come up with a group name, cheer and make a group flag.

my group name was "DUNNO".

haha.

because everytime the boys asked the girls if we like the group name,

we kept saying DUNNO.

after that,

my group had to the cheer first.

haha.

it was fun. and embarassing.

after that,

we went back to our dorms to change into shorts.

jonathan said that we were going to get wet and dirty.

after changing,

we met back at the youth room.

from there,

jonathan and non-campers brought us to the roof area of church.

the first game was not so wet.

unless we made mistakes.

we had to finish 4 main tasks in 100 seconds.

we had to fill up two packets with water and tie the packets up.

after that,

someone in the group has to throw one packet at a time at another group member.

that group member had to catch the packets with his/her shirt.

that means that member's shirt had to be long.

that member was me.

the first time.

the packet broke as too much force was used to throw it.

so my shirt became wet.

we had 5 tries for every group.

only in the last try,

did we complete all tasks.

in 73 seconds.

haha.

oh ya.

after the member caught both packets with his/her shirt,

he/she had to pass it to the next member.

the next member had to tuck in his/her shirt and put both packets in to their shirt.

and do five jumping jacks.

after that,

the next member had to take both packets,

one in a hand straight.

and the other on his/her head.

but you could hold the packet on your head.

then that member had to cross a zig zag line.

and pass it to the next member.

that member had to lie on the ground.

and roll back.

and retrieve both packets one at a time.

with his/her feet.

once any of the packets dropped and broke,

we would have to start again.

once that member retrieves the packets,

the last memeber would have to take both packets or one at a time and smash them on his/her head.

that was fun.

unfortunately,

my group lost.

after that,

we played another wet game.

we had to cover one member in the group with tissue paper.

that person would be the mummy.

that member had to walk across a distance and come back.

while the other groups would throw water packets at him/her.

the mummy with most tissue paper left,

WINS.

again,

my group didn't win.

at first,

the P6s threw the water packets at the mummies.

then it was the non-campers turn.

after that,

we were brought to the carpark.

over there,

we saw one table and a basin on top of the table.

inside the basin,

there was water.

and two cups.

at any one time,

two groups would be challenging each other.

a member from each group would go up to the table.

and scissors,paper,stone with the other group member.

the winner would be able to take a cupful of water and throw it at the loser.

the loser would only be able duck and dodge.

but he/she had to say at the same place.

we got really wet.

then,

it got worse.

jonathan came walking towards the table with a big grin.

he was holding a paper plate.

full of flour.

now,

the winner would be able too take a handful of flour and throw it at the loser.

CRAP.

i got alot of flour on me.

THEN.

the WORST came.

jonathan brought one group at a time to the basement.

speaking of basement,

we also played poison ball in there before the wet games.

two of the groups would be throwing the ball on the one group in the middle.

fun.

ok.

back to the WORST part.

my group was the second to go to the basement.

so,

before going there,

we saw the first group.

they were seriously all wet and WHITE with FLOUR.

they told us that we were going to die down at the basement.

i got really scared then.

then my group went down.

it was dark.

but we could still see light.

i saw tables and chairs.

toppled down,

still standing,

horizontal.

and it looked like a MAZE.

a hard one.

jonathan said we had to lie down.

and crawl through the maze.

while the non-campers sprayed water,

threw flour,

and threw dirty, rain water at us.

moreover,

the floor was SUPER WET.

and it hurt alot.

my knees and elbows got bruises.

but it was a new experience.

it was worse for me.

because my sister is in youth.

and the non-campers were in youth.

so they threw extra flour at me.

the non-camper holding the hose always sprayed water at my face whenever he could.

CRAP.

so there was always water being sprayed on my face.

and flour thrown on me.

and dirty, rain water.

after completing the maze.

i was super, damn tired.

i could hardly walk.

because so long crawling what.

after the maze,

we had to stand on tables a a group.

and one of the non-campers took a photo of us.

covered with flour and wet.

after that,

we were sprayed with water to take away the flour on our shorts and hair.

then we went to bath.

i was very unlucky.

by the time i went to the vacant cubicle,

it was overflowed.

with water.

so it was hard for me to put my shorts and undergarments.

at least i could get the flour out of my hair.

after bathing and changing,

i went back to the girls' dorm to put back my things.

then some of the girls went down with me to buy drinks from the vending machine.

then we went to the Gideon Hall.

and met xinyi and siok hong there.

we played catching there.

then pepsi cola.

siok hong kept screaming.

very loud.

no matter what.

lastly,

we played a,e,i,o,u.

i kept making siok hong laugh everytime i was the catcher.

after that,

we went back to the girls' dorm for a while and went to the Gideon Hall for dinner.

after that,

we went back to the dorm.

and talked and played.

we played truth-or-dare.

sarah and mavis were dared to go to the boys' dorm,

knock on the door,

and say i love you to the boy who opens the door.

then the i love you became will you be my date,

then will you marry me.

haha.

very fun.

because some of the boys came to our dorm and said i love you too.

after that,

we changed into track pants for worship.

we went to the youth room.

and saw many more youth.

many more that the no. of youth we saw at the start of the camp.

they were praying,

as usual,

before worship.

then jonathan introduced us to them.

then we had worship.

we jumped alot.

very tired.

then the youths prayed for us, P6s.

almost felt like crying then.

carrie also.

after that,

the youth and P6s formed a big circle.

then jonathan called 5 P6 girls and 5 P6 boys to come to the front.

i went.

we had to sample 5 different types of water.

which all looked the same.

without making any face.

the 1st one was soda water.

the 2nd one was salt water.

the 3rd one was normal water.

the 4th one was white vinegar mixed with water.

the last one was sugar water,

i liked the 3rd one only.

then 5 youths had to sample the water also.

they made faces.

i am sure it was for fun.

after that,

jonathan explained to us that the aim of the sampling was to show us that things may look the same,

but they have different consequences.

he explained to us abouth the differences when we are going to secondary school from primary school.

that was a very good and infromative talk.

after that,

we went to the Gideon Hall.

and played catching.

there would be three catchers.

and the three catchers would be from the same group.

the catchers would be blindfolded.

the other members would guide the three members who are catchers.

so we played the game three times.

every group had 5 minutes to catch as many people as possible.

sometimes,

we would only be able to move with our butts.

that was quite hard.

at other times,

we could run freely.

and lastly,

we could only duck but stay at the same place.

and we were playing at night.

at around 10.30pm.

after that,

we played the mother hen and the eagle game.

the game where the mother hen has many chicks behind her.

and the eagle would try to get the last chick.

the mother hen would have to try to protect the chick as much as she could.

but the chain must not break.

anyways,

the mother hen could be a male or female.

it was very fun and funny.

but the person behind me pulled me back so much,

my neck hurt.

most of the time,

the chain always broke and the chick would run away from the eagle itself.

after that,

we played hide-and-seek all over the church.

the P6s had to catch as many youths as possible.

the youths were hiding all over the church.

i could not find any.

the ones i found were already caught.

and no torches were allowed.

so it was very dark and scary.

we played until around 11.15pm.

then some of the youths went home.

some stayed.

then we had supper at a prata shop.

we walked there.

i was very tired and had no mood to eat supper as my neck was hurting very badly.

but i went there for the free drink.

only 4 girls ate prata.

the rest drank.

after that,

we went back to church.

and went back to our respective dorms.

then we we slept.

actually,

we came back at around 12.15am.

and we talked and played until 2am.

then i could not take it anymore and went to sleep.

sarah slept at 5 am.

sharon told sarah and mavis off as they were laughing and talking very loudly.

and sharon could not sleep.

sarah was playing with her torch too.

ok.

that was all that happened on the first day.

2nd day:

i woke up with 4 other girls at 7am.

sarah and mavis woke up at 8am.

sharon woke up at 7.30am.

we went to bathe and change.

and brush our teeth.

then we changed and went down to the Gideon Hall.

i thought we were going to have breakfast.

but we went to exercise instead.

that was tiring.

doing warm up,

warm down and going one round for a jog.

after that,

we went back to Gideon Hall.

and some non-campers talked to us about God.

then,

we had breakfast.

i had a tuna and an egg sandwich.

and milo.

then i went back to the girls' dorm.

and rested there for a while.

then we went down.

and played games.

we played whacko.

chop chilly chop.

7 up.

and hi mary.

hi mary was fun.

because if anyone made a mistake,

jonathan would draw a dot on that person's face.

carrie had three dots.

chrystal, felicia and sharon had 1 dot.

sarah, mavis and me had zero dots.

WOOTS.

wee xin didn't play because she had a head injury.

not a serious one.

but she was crying.

then the girls satand stood beside wee xin.

and some of the youth came.

they started asking us what school we wanted to go to.

i didn't say mine.

i didn't intend to.

then,

we had lunch.

then we went to our dorms and rested for a while.

actually,

i forgot what we did.

then,

we had this amazing race.

we had to finish 10 tasks in 1 hour and 45 minutes.

these are the tasks:(not in order)

-collect receipts from NTUC which total up to $300.

can be more than $300, but the group closest to $300 wins.

-go to any salon and get mohawk style for free.

only one person.

-get a mcdonalds happy meal box with the toy for free.

-get a free doughnut from any donut specialty store.

-sell 8 packets of tissue paper.

must get at least $2. the group with the most money wins.

-collect 7 different types of straws.

-collect 6 different types of bags and tie the around your shorts and walk like that wherever you go.only one person.

-stand in a line at mr.bean and say thank you to 5 people who purchase soya bean.

-sing a song with actions to 5 complete strangers and the 5 people have to clap.

-find out which supermarket sells the cheapest milo refill pack in Bedok Interchange.

ya.

those are the 10 tasks.

anyways,

my group was first for this.

after that,

we ran back to church.

and helped to clear the basement and the dorms.

then we went home.

i enjoyed every minute of the camp :D
